Great feather for hackling wet flies and nymphs, and is widely used in traditional dressings, particularly North Country Spiders.
The colour of the feather ranges from dark brown, through light brown, to light cream with a barred effect on the feather. The feathers are beautifully marked.
Although it is mainly used for hackles, where its softness gives it great movement in the water, the fibres from the feather can also be used for tails on flies.
